Tick sprays are used on the yard to kill the ticks or even used directly on the dog. They are more effective than tick dips.

The best yet time consuming method to completely get rid of ticks is by using tweezers. Tweezers are specially made instruments for the purpose of removing a tick manually. Spread your dog's fur and get a hold of the tick using your tweezer. Slowly and gently pull the tweezer upwards to remove the tick.
